The City of Sarnia ranks among the cheapest places to live in the country.
According to MoneySense, Sarnia is the ninth cheapest Canadian city to live in, ahead of St. John's, Newfoundland which ranked tenth on the list.
The only other Ontario city to crack the top ten was Sault Ste. Marie.
Trois-Rivieres, Quebec was determined to be the cheapest city in Canada.
The Canadian finance magazine also broke down the cheapest cities by province, looking at everything from rent to food, transit, clothing and leisure.
Across the 36 cities in Ontario that were examined, Sarnia was listed as the second most affordable place to live.
MoneySense said the required yearly income to live comfortably in Sarnia is $74,208.
Sault Ste. Marie ranked the most affordable in Ontario. Brantford, Greater Sudbury and Newmarket round out the top five.
Richmond Hill tops both the national and provincial lists as the most expensive city to live in, with a required yearly income of $106,536 to live comfortably.
